WHAT IS YOUR ARTISTIC STYLE?
Contemporary figurative style. Overlay of oil and acrylic layers allows you to create depth and textures.
WHAT TECHNIQUE DO YOU USE?
It is a technique where the artist uses spatula and acrylic paint, and oil painting, on canvas, fragments of newspaper, recycled elements, among others.
What kind of works does Melk Barros offer?
The artist offers contemporary works built from a dialogue between gesture and matter. Through the combined use of brush and spatula, each piece reveals a surface in tension, where layers of color overlap, hide and emerge as memory fragments. The brushstroke provides fluidity and rhythm, while the spatula introduces strength, texture and rupture, generating reliefs that invite both visual and tactile reading. The result is abstract compositions that explore the emotional depth of color and the imprint of time on matter.
Can I order a custom portrait?
Yes, Melk Barros accepts commissions, especially portraits from photographs. Deadlines and fees are determined according to each case.
How are the works delivered?
The canvases are sent rolled in tubes or mounted on racks, depending on the destination and the customer’s requirement.
Do you offer international shipments?
Yes, shipments are made worldwide. Costs vary by country, size and weight of artwork.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payments are made by bank transfer, PayPal or credit card, as the case may be.
Can I visit a current exhibition?
Exhibitions are held regularly at galleries or art fairs. The dates are announced on the website and on social networks. To check the opening hours, contact the gallery directly or through the page in the contact section.
Can I see the works in person?
Yes, during the exhibitions or by appointment through the galleries with which you have works.
Are the works available online?
Not always. A green mark (available) or red mark (sold) is displayed. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Can I get a certificate of authenticity?
Yes, each original work comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
What is a limited edition?
It is a limited edition reproduction (for example, 20 copies), numbered and signed by hand by the artist.
What is the difference between an original painting and a reproduction?
The original work is a unique handmade piece; Printing is a digital reproduction signed by the artist, usually on paper or canvas.
What are the delivery times?
Delivery times vary by destination. For Colombia, the term is 15 business days. For international shipments: about 1 month. For custom orders, the term can be from 6 to 10 weeks or more depending on the level of detail required.
Can I get an invoice?
Yes, an invoice can be issued for each purchase, even for companies.
Can I use a work in a personal project (web page, movie, cover...)?
No. All works are protected by copyright. Any reproduction or use requires authorization by license or agreement, and misuse may lead to financial penalties in accordance with current regulations.
How can I interview Melk Barros?
Yes, a press project can be requested through the website or by request by institutional mail.
Do the indicated prices include VAT?
If the buyer requests it, the tax is added according to the laws of the interested party in the work.
What is the average size of the works?
The works usually vary. The smallest canvases measure 80×80 cm, up to 195×150 cm or even more. Large pieces are common in our works.
Can we watch videos of your work?
Yes, videos are available or may be requested, or through press articles.
Does the artist accept collaborations with architects or decorators?
Yes, the request of architects or other professionals is very common, upon request.
Are the works insured during transportation?
Yes, the works are shipped with insurance that covers the value of the work.
Are the works signed?
Yes, all the works are signed by the artist on the back of the piece.
In which countries have you exhibited?
They have been exhibited in Colombia, the United States, Mexico and other countries.
Can I propose a commercial collaboration (brand, design...)?
Yes. The artistic study is open to collaborations with institutional brands and projects that align with our artistic language. Each proposal is evaluated individually to ensure coherence and mutual value.
